WINERY & HERBS
Visitors centre and workshop space
The building is conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Flemish barn, a recurring visual element in "Het Groene Woud". The visitors centre has to express the business concept of Winery and Herbs: to repair the broken link between nature and a healthy diet through the experience of everything which grows and blooms.
An optimal spatial and visual relationship between the workshop spaces and surrounding gardens is of great importance. To emphasize the idea of the close relationship between farming and nature, we developed a building which programmatically is a part of the cultivation program of the company. For this reason a small greenhouse will be an essential part of the building. All together, the new visitors centre becomes a showpiece for the company, while serving an educational purpose as well.
